First review of the album in the ‘Scotland on Sunday’ 4 stars.
FOLK    Alistair Ogilvy ‘Leaves Sae Green’ Greentrax, CDTRAX365,

Here’s an unusually thoughtful album of songs from an emerging young singer who pins his colours to the mast of the ship that carries the Scots tradition. Multi-instrumentalist and theatre musician Aly Macrae adds the dramatic instrumental settings, and mixes modern and unusual accompaniments to a rake of the better old lyrics, ballads and love songs. Inge Thomson adds shimmering vocals, and Steven Polwart his clean guitar, to the wash of subtle colour that makes this album stand out from the contemporary crowd. If not yet fully matured, Ogilvy’s youthful, expressive voice is remarkably fluent, and must garner many listeners.
